- A running list of all vehicles owned and/or operated by the Piscataway Township Police Department over the last five years to include make, model, year of manufacture, VIN, current status (in service or out of service), and reason vehicle was placed out of service as applicable

- Copies of all claims made for losses involving all vehicles owned and/or operated by the Piscataway Township Police Department over the last five years. Claims to included any applicable police reports, incident reports or other documentation as applicable. Claims shall also include the total value of the loss incurred.

Dear Mr. Tarbous,
 
 
The Piscataway Township Police Department received your Open Public
Records Act (OPRA) requests (attached) on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. As
such, the seven (7) business day deadline to respond to your requests is
Friday, March 26, 2021.  This response to your requests is being provided
to you on the 6th business day after the custodian’s receipt of said
request.
 
Your OPRA requests sought access to the following:
 
- A running list of all vehicles owned and/or operated by the Piscataway
Township Police Department over the last five years to include make,
model, year of manufacture, VIN, current status (in service or out of
service), and reason vehicle was placed out of service as applicable
 
- Copies of all claims made for losses involving all vehicles owned and/or
operated by the Piscataway Township Police Department over the last five
years.  Claims to included any applicable police reports, incident reports
or other documentation as applicable.  Claims shall also include the total
value of the loss incurred.
 
And
 
- All RFP's/RFQ's, quotes, records of purchase, records of service and
other documentation in regards to the purchase and implementation of
LawSoft branded computer aided dispatch (CAD) software solutions.
 
- Dates during which LawSoft was utilized (go live date through date of
depreciation)
 
- All information detailing how records entered into this software are
currently stored post depreciation and how members of the public may
request their records.
 
 
 
Your requests requires additional time beyond the seven (7) business days
to fulfill because some of these records are in storage or held elsewhere.
OPRA allows custodians to seek extensions of time pursuant to N.J.S.A.
47:1A-5.i.  Specifically, OPRA states that, “the requestor shall be
advised by the custodian when the record can be made available. If the
record is not made available by that time, access shall be deemed denied.”
 
Your request requires an extension of time until Friday, April 9, 2021. 
 
If your request for access to a government record has been denied or
unfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a
right to challenge the decision by the [insert name of Agency] to deny
access. At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the
Superior Court of New Jersey or file a complaint with the Government
Records Council (GRC) by completing the Denial of Access Complaint Form. 
You may contact the GRC by toll-free telephone at 866-850-0511, by mail at
P.O. Box 819, Trenton, NJ, 08625, by e-mail at [email address], or at
their web site at [1]www.state.nj.us/grc. The GRC can also answer other
questions about the law.  All questions regarding complaints filed in

Dear Mr. Tarbous,
 
The Piscataway Police Department Records Section received your Open Public
Records Act (OPRA) request on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. On Thursday,
March 25, 2021 we requested an extension with an anticipated response date
of April 9, 2021. This response is being provided to you on Thursday,
April 8, 2021.
 
The following records are being provided to you in their entirety and are
responsive to your request.
 
1." All RFP's/RFQ's, quotes, records of purchase, records of service and
other documentation in regards to the purchase and implementation of
LawSoft branded computer aided dispatch (CAD) software solutions."
 
A copy of the Lawsoft Proposal,Bid,Certification of Funds,Purchase Order
and Township Resolution, totaling five (5) pages.
 
2."Dates during which LawSoft was utilized (go live date through date of
depreciation)"
 
Lawsoft went live on February 1, 2017 through May 18, 2018 when the system
was breached and all records lost.
 
3."All information detailing how records entered into this software are
currently stored post depreciation and how members of the public may
request their records."
 
There are no records currently stored for Lawsoft records as the system
was breached and all attempts at recovery were unsuccessful. Any request
for records during this period are unable to be provided. I've attached a
copy of the letter that is provided to those requesting these records.

No list of previous owned/operated vehicles exists.

reports or other documentation as applicable.  Claims shall also include
the total value of the loss incurred."
