This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:

Please provide us with the names of ALL attorneys and or law firms which represent/represented the Township of Old Bridge from 1-1-2000 to present. Also please provide us with the total amount paid to each attorney individually or to the firm that they represent for legal services. The total paid should include not only work performed or hours billed but also any retainers that were paid in anticipation of work to be performed.

The Township of Old Bridge received an Open Public Records Act (OPRA)
request on August 4, 2021.  As such, the seven (7) business day deadline
to respond to your request is August 13, 2021.  The Township is responding
to your request on the second business day from the receipt of your
request.

 

The request was for:

Please provide us with the names of ALL attorneys and or  law firms which
represent/represented the Township of Old Bridge from 1-1-2000 to present.
Also please provide us with the total amount paid to each attorney
individually or to the firm that they represent for legal services. The
total paid should include not only work performed or hours billed but also
any retainers that were paid in anticipation of work to be performed.

 

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1 it has been determined that this request
does not qualify as a document request pursuant to the OPRA laws and the
definition thereof. This governmental custodian is not required to conduct
research, analyze, collate, compile and/or correlate data from existing
governmental records. A blanket request for all documents is not a
document request pursuant to OPRA and existing case law. Pursuant to MAG
Entertainment, LLC v Div. of Alcoholic Beverage Control, 375 N.J. Super.
534, 868A2d 1067 (App. Div. 2005), and Bent 381 NJ Super 30. Under OPRA,
agencies are required to disclose only “identifiable” governmental
documents not otherwise exempt. Wholesale requests for general information
which have to be collated, analyzed and compiled by the entity are not
required. Therefore, I respectfully deny your request at this time.
