Dear Lt. Greene,

Thank you for your prompt reply. In previous OPRA requests from 2019 in which this same information was requested, it was stated there is an Active911 account created under the name "Ocean County Fire & EMS" registered to the department's address at 138 Chestnut Street, Toms River, so that is the account I am referring to.

Thank you,

Resident

Resident,

I just wanted to touch base with you on your OPRA request. Because the information you are seeking goes back in time substantially, I've been advised that a request must be sent from our Communications Unit to Active 911 in order to retrieve the records you are seeking. That request has been made and we should have the information to you within the next day or two. Thank you for your patience.

Dear Lt. Greene,

Just checking in with you. You had said on September 8 to expect the information delivered within the next day or two. Since that time frame has now passed, Is the information expected to be delivered at some point this week?

Resident,

It’s funny you just happen to email me. I literally just got the
information sent to me as you can see in the attached. Active 911 sent us
a spreadsheet earlier, but it was blank. If you are ever in need of this
type of information again, I would recommend trying to request it within
the same month. This way we will have the information and will not need to
involve Active 911. I apologize for the delay.

Dear Lt. Greene,

What are the odds of that?! I'm glad they finally got the information sent over. Moving forward, my plan was to get the remainder of 2020. I had only asked for January/February because I noticed from other past OPRA requests, you had mentioned to the requester that if you ask Active911 for more than 2 months at a time, it makes it more difficult for them to send for some reason.

So, based on that, I will ask you your thoughts on how I should proceed with my next OPRA request. Do you think it better if I now ask for March 2020 through August 2020 all at once, or should I ask for them in 2 month batches of separate OPRA requests (March/April, May/June, July/August, and then eventually we'll be caught up to current day with September/October).

I'll wait to hear back from you on what you think the best way to proceed is.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Resident

Dear Lt. Greene,

One other thing: I just skimmed through the call log, and the log seems to cut off at 2:40AM on 2/29/20, so a majority of the 2/29/20 calls are missing. Should I just make 2/29/20 (and not 3/1/20) as the start date of my next OPRA request?

Yours sincerely,

Resident

Greene, Joseph, Ocean County Sheriff's Department

Let's try doing it all in one shot. Send me another request to that effect and we will send it out to them. Once we are caught up, you can go month to month if need be. It may take a little while, but they should be able to get it done. Once you send me the new request I will get it where it needs to go and I will keep you posted on the progress.
